Overview

Atlantic Medical Group is currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager to lead the development and implementation of a program that supports non-physician clinical staff with orientation and competency assessment in order to promote standardized clinical work flow and optimal patient care and outcomes throughout AMG. The Clinical Nurse Manager will evaluate performance, provide feedback and mentoring, develop education programs, contribute to staff professional development, provide oversight of Environment of Care (EOC) and Infection Prevention (IP) throughout AMG, in collaboration with the AHS system IP departments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

* Develops and implements a program for annual clinical competency assessment of clinical staff, with appropriate general and specialty modules. Develops a program for evaluating the orientation and annual competency curriculum in order to provide continuous improvement

* Identifies the clinical and professional development needs of nursing staff, plans and provides education in area of expertise. Develops and provides educational programs and conferences for staff, other departments and community

* Assesses the need for, plans, and implements quality improvement programs for both clinical education and environment of care. Plans with staff to identify interventions needed in order to successfully implement workflow changes

* Reviews patient and staff data to measure the effectiveness of patient care

* Collaborate with senior leadership, interdisciplinary teams and other stakeholders in order to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services in AMG that align with the system

* Applies evidence-based healthcare practices and nursing standards. Performs needs-assessments and develops programs to address individual and systematic gaps. Critically evaluates existing practice based on current research findings and integrates changes into practice

* Collaborates with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environment

* Provides leadership and guidance to other clinical and non-clinical team members

* Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment

* Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting AMG philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments

* Maintains clinical and non-clinical guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures

* Promotes and maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from other health care professionals within the system and from regulatory agencies

* Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations while consistently following the National Patient Safety Goals

* Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

* Evaluates own clinical and professional performance according to the standards of the appropriate professional and regulatory bodies, and takes action to improve practice. Seeks feedback regarding own practice and role performance from peers, professional colleagues, patients, family members and other team members

* Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport and participating in team problem-solving methods

* Maintains working knowledge of regulatory requirements and stays abreast of changes in order to implement appropriate and timely policy updates and training

* Works collaboratively with AMG quality, patient experience and Epic ambulatory teams in order to incorporate appropriate initiatives and programs into the clinical curriculum

Qualifications

Education:

* BSN required

* Master's Degree in Nursing or other health related field preferred

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Minimum of 5 years clinical or management experience in an ambulatory setting, valid NJ RN License, and BLS required

* Familiar with NJ regulations regarding scope of practice of CMAs, LPNs and RNs

* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

* Travel to practice sites required
