Program Assistant - School of Medicine

The WVU Human Performance department is seeking applications for a Program Assistant I. This position is responsible for assisting in the administration of the procedures, policies, and practices of the Programs for the Physician Assistant and Health Informatics and Information Management Programs including providing administrative support for the Chair, Director, faculty, and the various committees of the Programs.

In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

* Provides administrative support to the Program Chairperson, Program Director, and other Faculty within the PA and HI/IM Programs.

* Maintains data and prepares reports for assessment

* Participate in preparation of accreditation documents and organization of site visits

* Provides support for teaching that includes:

* Gathering materials, organization, managing exams and evaluations

* Proctoring Exams

* Organization of Continuing Education courses.

* Events planning – social, teaching, recruiting, and retreats for PA and HI/IM Programs

* Ordering of supplies for PA and HI/IM Programs

* Responsible for updating the Directory and Web-sites for the PA and HI/IM Programs

* Maintains calendars for Administration and Program Calendars

* Scheduling and Confirming of Finals for the Professional School Courses

* Pcard purchases and reconciliation within MyExpenses.

* Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Six (6) months experience:

* Administrative/Executive Secretary Experience

* General Accounting Experience

* Excellent Typing Skills

* Superb organizational skills; advanced language talent (spelling, grammar, etc.)

* Excellent personnel management ability

* Outstanding computer aptitude, (including word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, photo editing, flow charts, etc.)

* Exceptional office management capacity

* Use of calculator, computer, and facsimile on a daily basis. Use of slide projector, overhead projector, and laptop.

* Using databases, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, and e-mail.
