Payroll Processor

Purpose: To process accurate, timely driver payroll /settlements every time. Support drivers with trip documents, procedure and policy.

Responsibilities:

1. Audit driver trip reports, purchase orders and reimbursements. This may include opening trips, scanning, indexing, verifying all information against information in system, updating as needed and processing driver pay over to driver’s settlement account.

2. Audit image documents for valid classification.

3. Compare driver miles and cities on trip report to system miles and cities. Research discrepancies to accurately pay driver wages.

4. Enter cash tractor fuel.

5. Notify driver of incomplete data and follow up on revised trips. Coach driver in Qualcomm use.

6. Forward documents to other Departments as needed, such as to Safety, Contractor or Risk Depts.

7. Work within Settlement queues to monitor accuracy of pay rates; being sure fleet assignment matches pay package; POs issued to correct trips allowing miles to process correctly; POs issued when needed (i.e.: rail loads or 20% split loads).

8. Knowledge of driver pay packages, reimbursement policies, and purchase order requirements.

9. Monitor Payroll Team’s Messaging System and Email for both internal and external messages.

10. Scan and index items relative to drivers’ pay into drivers’ payroll files on weekly basis.

11. Respond to questions from drivers and/or authorized representatives with confidence and professionalism. Train/retrain drivers to follow company procedures.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships:

Relate written and verbal information to drivers; contact fleet managers for clarification; interaction with Accounting Dept staff and with personnel from other departments.

Abilities / Skills Required:

Computer literacy, problem-solving ability, accuracy in data entry, good communication and organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to handle confidential information.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting/standing for periods of time, manual dexterity, listening/hearing and speaking/verbal skills.

Education:

High School education plus previous office and payroll experience.
