Position Purpose

Maximize the contribution of the Mobile Operations to the K-C Professional sector and the Family Care sector by providing the overall business and financial guidance relative to the accounting function (budget, cost, capital, cash flow, insurance, financial analysis, and internal control), procurement, material flow, export, and indirectly MIS functions as they affect and impact on all phases of the Mobile Operations. This role also has accountability for the operation of the Mobile Distribution Center (DC) and site logistics.

Customers and Customer Requirements:

Key customers include mill operating and management teams, mill administrative teams, Staff Finance, and Staff Supply Chain teams and administrative teams. Deputies require opportunities for continued self-development that will enhance present performance or prepare them for future advancement. Other customers expect timely and accurate analysis and planning support, forecasting, budgeting, plant and equipment management, cost reduction programs, and counsel to support sound financial and business decisions. The incumbent is also expected to support mill management in ensuring a strong facility internal control program and overall mill compliance to the code of conduct and corporate financial instructions.


Reports to the Mobile Mill Manager and serves as a member of the Site Leadership Team. Reporting to this position are the Finance team, the Purchasing team, Stores team, DC team, Material Flow team, Export team, and Mill logistics team. The mill MIS team has an indirect reporting relationship to the Mill Controller.

This position serves as the principal liaison with the financial leadership of the K-C Professional sector and the Family Care sector on all finance and logistics issues that affect the Mobile Operations. The incumbent is responsible for understanding and enforcing the applicable EHS procedures and requirements for his/her area.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field

* Seven to Ten years of progressive financial analysis and management experience and/or prior relevant experience

* Knowledge of mill operations and product supply

* Strong Interpersonal skills

* Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and financial analysis skills

* Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple priorities

* Strong communication skills

* Proficiency in the areas of general business practices and cost and accounting principles


Total Annual Site Budget $350MM

Personnel Supervised 70 (6 salaried, 64 hourly)

Principal Accountabilities

Responsible for operating their area in full compliance with local EHS legislation and codes. Ensure continued safe work practices of self and others by complying with the Mill (EHS) Policy Statement along with company and governmental regulations. Maintain good housekeeping standards while eliminating and preventing losses of all types (injuries, illnesses, process loss, property damage).

Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting a customer-based philosophy in the level of service provided.

Ensure that the organization is staffed with qualified, trained, and motivated personnel by encouraging and counseling continued self-development in areas that will enhance present performance and/or prepare deputies for advancement.

Develop and maintain a favorable employee relation's climate within the department, which will result in all employees considering their mill a fair and equitable place of employment with opportunities for personal advancement and development.

To provide strategic direction to ensure systems and procedures are in place which allow for the accurate and timely compiling, reporting and evaluating of all relevant financial data for the Mobile Operations.

Provide leadership to the Site Procurement function that is responsible for servicing the Mobile Site in the procuring of local goods and services and interfaces with Corporate Procurement function.

Provide indirect leadership to the Site Management Information Systems (MIS) function that is responsible for site-wide data systems, production support systems, systems integrity, telephone communications, and personal computer support and maintenance.

Provide leadership to the Material Flow function that is responsible for on-boarding new hires, evaluating organization fit, and providing services to the operational teams by providing timely movement of materials throughout the facility.

Provide leadership to the site Stores and Receiving functions that are responsible for management of site spare parts.

Provide leadership for Mobile DC and site logistics operations.

Formulates and implements local accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Corporate Financial Instructions and policies in order to ensure that accounting practice is in alignment with general accepted accounting policies, and that there exists a strong presence and practice of internal control procedures.

Analyzes, interprets and reports on plant operating costs and statistics, and makes improvement recommendations to the site operating managers, staff members and appropriate business leaders in order to minimize production costs and maximize plant contribution to corporate profits.

Responsible to create awareness and support appropriate business improvement opportunities in all business sectors and across business sectors that capitalize on synergies which improve business profitability.

Design, maintain and operate financial systems and analytical tools in order to provide effective decision support. Collaborate with other Finance Teams and Team Leaders to drive continuous improvement and standardized business processes.

Provide the sound business counsel and leadership on policies, procedure, contract administration, and issue resolution which arises between the two local site owners – e.g., Kimberly-Clark and MESC
