Social Worker - MSW

Provision of clinical social work services to pediatric patients and their families in the NICU, Postpartum, Antepartum, Womens Health Clinic, and Maternal Child Medicine Clinic serving high risk pregnancies. Duties include, but are not limited to, psychosocial assessments, assisting with creating healthy parent-child relationships, community and internal financial resource linkages and providing supportive counseling to parents and families of premature and sick newborns who many be experiencing anticipated grief and/or loss. This position functions daily as a member of the interdisciplinary team and provides consultation, education and advocacy on behalf of the patients and families. This position also assists with reporting suspected abuse or maltreatment to Child Protective Services when appropriate. Experience with perinatal mental health issues including the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, knowledge around neonatal abstinence syndrome and previous child maltreatement reporting experience preferred.

Schedule is a two week rotational schedule of 4 days each week (every other week includes a Saturday). Some after hours call may be periodically required.

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, finger dexterity, reaching, rotation, bending and operate motor vehicle, talking, hearing and vision.

Mental demands: frequent people contact, irregular schedule, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration required, work independently, multitask, frequent deadlines, organizations skills and work with others.

Job Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work and experience in health care.
