Relationship Lender II

The Relationship Lender is responsible for contributing to department goals for number and dollar amounts of loans closed by learning and acting on cross-sell opportunities, including TCF deposit relationships. This position will handle customer service calls on a daily basis.

Major Areas of Accountability

* Through on-the-job training and attendance in approved classes, gain understanding of any applications of Federal and State laws concerning the purpose, processing, approval and denial of loan requests.

* Refer all approval terms and conditions to management, recommending approval or rejection and justifying that decision.

* Convey all approval terms and conditions to the referring source and verifying that all approval conditions related to these approvals are met before closing.

* Possess a strong working knowledge of all consumer regulations, including: Regulations B, G, and Z, Uniform Commercial Code, FHLBB, FSLIC and State Statutes.

* Ensure that credit quality and compliance issues are maintained per TCF policy.

* Maintain existing relationships with referral sources both inside and outside the company.

* Contact current referral sources with the intention of developing additional business.

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

* High school diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred

* One year or more years work experience in Retail Lending underwriting

* Experience in evaluating delinquency issues

* Aptitude toward sales

* Strong attention to detail

* Ability to work with a "sense of urgency"

* Ability to meet deadlines

* Collections experience preferred

* Understanding of HMDA requirements preferred
