The Intermediate Painter is responsible for the successful operation of the painting process including hanging, unloading, pre-staging, masking, and painting parts. In this role, you’ll put the finishing touches on parts to achieve high quality standards. If you enjoy having established procedures and standards of work, using your problem solving skills and continuously seek ways to improve, then this is the role for you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform hanging, unloading, pre-staging, masking, painting operations to established standards
  • Follow pre-established guidelines, procedures, plans, and priorities as set by the supervisor
  • Maintain paint equipment in good operating order
  • Perform full-color changes, caulking of parts and operates controls side of the paint booth
  • Troubleshoot and adjust to complete assigned tasks
  • Identify problems and/or reasons for paint errors and recommend resolutions
  • Focus on continuous improvements in paint processes

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2-4 years related experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires standing 90% of shift
  • Frequent bending, twisting, squatting and lifting with arms extended
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. Average part weighs 5 - 15 lbs
  • Requires good manual dexterity

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:

  • Hearing and vision protection required in all areas
  • Safety shoes required in all areas
  • Exposure to oil, grease, dust, metal particles, sparks, sharp-edged materials

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposed to hazards/risks that require body protection (gloves, pants, steel toes, sleeves, safety glasses, etc.)
