In this role you will be a Financial Analyst focused on Process accounting, financial reporting, and control-related activities for Supply Chain Accounting. In this position you will focus on hedging / derivative activity for General Mills' Global Sourcing Organization. Includes daily, weekly and monthly processing activities related to Sourcing hedge activity. In this role you'll partner closely with Supply Chain Accounting, Supply Chain Finance, Sourcing Operations, Grain Operations, Global Business Services, Treasury, and external parties.

* Collaborate with Sourcing Buyers and Grain Merchandisers on daily commodity positions, questions and projects; subject matter expert for Sourcing hedging and commodity questions

* Oversee daily processing of hedge activity performed in our Global Business Services organization. Be a resource for questions and issues as they arise

* Review and approve daily commodity reconciliations among brokers, counterparties and internal reporting

* Process the monthly hedge accounting entries into General Mills' ERP system (SAP)

* Complete monthly general ledger hedge balance sheet account reconciliations

* Assist with drafting and completion of assigned areas within 10-K/Q and other internal and external financial reporting processes

* Finance/accounting support for the Commodity Trading and Risk-Management Software (ION CSL)

* Participate in monthly issue resolution calls with internal and ION IT support

* Participate on internal project teams, assisting with the design and implementation of CSL system enhancements

* Provide guidance over changes in accounting and standards for derivative activity

* Compile weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly hedge reporting for Treasury, Sourcing Finance and the buyers

* Quarterly, lead a meeting with the Sourcing Finance Director to discuss quarterly hedge activity and performance

* Assist external and internal auditors with annual and periodic derivative audit requirements

* Provide guidance to employees over internal controls and standards in relation to hedge and derivative activity

* Perform various business and SOX controls over Sourcing hedge activities

Qualifications:

* 4-year Business degree; emphasis in Accounting preferred

* 2-3 years of experience preferred

* Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relationships with internal operations and external parties

* Ability to work independently and lead initiatives

* Analytical/problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail

* Strong interest in leading continuous improvement initiatives
