Job Description

Job Summary:

Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.

Responsibilities:

* Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.

* Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

* Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods.

* Serves as a resource to staff as needed.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

* Required Credential(s):

* One or more of the following:

* Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

* Certified Medical Tech credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

* Certified Medical Technologist credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. ASCP certification as an MLT, MT or MLS by date of hire preferred.

Education:

* Associate Degree

* Associate's Degree, successful completion of US Military Medical Laboratory training course, or Bachelor's Degree required by date of hire (Bachelor's Degree preferred) Associate's Degree in MLT or Bachelor's Degree in MT preferred

Work Experience:

* Medical Lab Technology experience preferred.
