Position Summary:

Themachine operator will be responsible for operating equipment in the areas ofcoating, compounding, and/or converting. This position is responsible for theproduction of valuable, defect-free products that meet or exceed our customers'expectations. The machine operator will be successful in this position byexecuting to standard work and adhering to all company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Performproduction equipment set up, clean up & operation

* Weigh,catalyze & mix coatings

* Evaluateand Tag Out Defects as necessary

* Preparepump & filtration systems for production process

* Operatematerial handling equipment

* Followdetailed written product specifications

* Performin-process inspection

* Performoperator level Quality testing to maintain product quality

* Set-up,cleanup and operator level maintenance of assigned machines and equipment

* Makeon the fly process adjustments to maintain product quality

* Performroll changes using material handling equipment and web threading

* Participateactively in Gain Sharing & Business Goals

* Comprehend& adhere to equipment & material specification

* Maintainquality standards while meeting daily & weekly production goals

* Communicateproduction misses & quality issues to appropriate leaders & departments

* Participatein continuous improvement initiatives

* Identifygaps & process improvements proactively

* Crosstrain in other departments & equipment

* SupportLean Daily Management & Key Performance Indicator tracking

* Workwith hazardous materials utilizing the proper personal protective equipment

* Adhereto Brady's Attendance, Safety & other Company policies

* Maintainaccurate paperwork, labeling, packaging and material transactions.

* Recordproduction data for entry in the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.

* Completegeneral housekeeping duties

* Maintainsafe working conditions in the department

* Allother duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* HighSchool Diploma or Equivalent is required.

* Basiccomputer skills E-mail, Microsoft Office, and Data Entry

* Basicmath skills

* Abilityto lift 50 lbs repeatedly & stand for 80% of shift

* Abilityto bend, twist & reach to perform job duties

* Flexiblein schedule to work overtime and weekends

* Abilityto receive internal certification to operate lift trucks

* Abilityto troubleshoot and communicate process issues

* Effectiveverbal and written communication skills

* Technical& Analytical skill set

* Abilityto read & follow written directions

* Detailoriented, strong work ethic & a positive can do attitude

* Desireto learn

* Abilitywork independently as well as in a team environment.

* Mechanicalaptitude (working with hand tools, pneumatic tools, following work instructionsfor disassembling and reassembling various types of process equipment)

* Mustbe able to read a ruler accurately within 1/64".

* Qualityconscious and attention to detail

* Abilityto maintain standards of production, both in quantity and quality.

* Willingnessand ability to be cross-trained on other machines and in other departments

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* 1- 2 years' experience in roll forming/printing/web handling/compounding/coating

* Contributeto problem solving through root-cause analysis

* Abilityto demonstrate leadership qualities and self-directed

* Experiencein lean manufacturing

* Experiencedfork lift operator

* Basicalgebra (e.g. order of operations)

* Willingnessand ability to learn and understand fluid mechanics at a basic level.
