The Division of Finance and Administrative Affairs (FAA) delivers essential business services that provide a foundation for UWM's student success, research excellence, community engagement, climate and culture, and visibility and image.

The departments within Finance and Administrative Affairs provide a wide array of services to steward and facilitate the management of the university's primary resources: human capital, finances, facilities, and information technology. FAA staff perform the accounting functions, plan for building construction and remodeling, provide technology infrastructure and enterprise IT services and resources, maintain healthy and safe research environments, provide security and protective services, clean and maintain the campus buildings and grounds, ensure fiscal integrity of campus financial operations, and provide legal advice and representation.

Job Summary

This position performs technical engineering/architectural related work as assigned by the Associate Director of Facility Services, administering and completing associated activities and programs in the areas of planning, design, construction, maintenance and review of facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

* An Associate Degree in an architectural/engineering discipline with 3 years of building envelope or infrastructure-focused architectural/engineering design or construction management experience,

Or a Bachelor's Degree in an architectural/engineering discipline with 1-year of building envelope or infrastructure-focused architectural/engineering design or construction management experience

* Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and meet the state's minimum requirements to drive

* Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting building and building MEP (Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing) system plans, specifications and operation/maintenance manuals

* Evidence of computer skills including the use of Excel, Word, and the Microsoft Office Suite

* Demonstrated work experience using AutoCAD (computer aided design software)

Preferred Qualifications

* Current possession of an Asbestos Abatement Certification as an inspector and supervisor of abatement programs.

* Demonstrated construction management experience.

* Demonstrated concrete flatwork design experience

* Demonstrated building roof repair or replacement design experience

* Demonstrated knowledge of State or Division of Facilities Development & Management (DFDM) project management

* Demonstrated building window design experience

* Demonstrated door replacement project design experience
