JOB SUMMARY: One of the nation's most respected, high-end environmental consulting firmsis actively seeking an ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIELD TECHNICIANS for work based out ofits Carlsbad, NM office location. In an effort todevelop a pool of available on call archaeological field personnel forfieldwork in the eastern United States, we are accepting resumes for Archaeological Field Technicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES: The position ofArchaeological Field Technician requires performing common tasks associatedwith archaeological investigations. These tasks include controlled excavation, data recordation, and planview and profile drawing. The candidatewill work closely with the Field Director to complete all field tasks asrequired by the specific contract. Thecandidate should posses some knowledge of material culture and subsistencestrategies of prehistoric peoples in the southwest and southern plains UnitedStates.

Essentialduties include the following:

* Controlled shovel test pit and block excavation

* Feature excavation

* Pedestrian survey

* Accurate note taking

* Artifact collection

* Plan view and profile drawings

* Report writing

QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. Therequirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/orability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The minimum requirements for the position of Archaeological Field Technician are aB.A. in Anthropology/Archaeology or closely related field. Candidates who have completed a field schoolare preferred.
