Infrastructure Services Operational Excellence Specialist

Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting job as an Operational Excellence Specialist (OES) for Michigan Operations Infrastructure Services in Midland, MI. This position is a dedicated role that drives organizational effectiveness to enable and accelerate performance and business success for the Chemical Distribution (954 Building) and Energy & Utilities (499 Building Dow West) and Dow Energy (Dow East). This role is an integral part of the organization dedicated to continuous improvement and learning throughout the organization. This OES role is an influential leader facilitating effective change management and focused on achieving department goals and metrics.

Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Learning development

* Develop, maintain and track training for Operations personnel in Michigan Operations Infrastructure Services for the Operations Excellence Model

* Writing clear terminal and enabling objectives.

* Develop Skill checks that ensure the learner's proficiency

* Item writing and analysis. (developing written test questions)

* Interview subject matter experts to identify key information.

* Complete template with key information

* Ensure proper reviews happen.

* Typical project workload would include 2-3 plant projects and a percentage of common training.

* Key point – Delivering the training is not typically in the scope of this role.

Learning Support

* Perform needs assessment based on requirements and goals to develop employee specific training schedules/ plans.

* Learning Review Board's (LRB) for SSRP personnel Management System

Support and improvements

* Assure plant personnel understand the Management

System requirements and how to meet them such as:

o Corrective And Preventative Actions

o Unplanned Event reduction

o Management Of Change

Plant Performance

* Unplanned event prevention service and support

* Responsible for an effective training program

* Work process implementation, gap analysis, and needed improvements

* Provide internal and external audit support

* Management Of Change (MOC) Reviewer for plant changes

Human Performance

* Perform needs assessment based on requirements and goals to develop employee specific training schedules and plans

* Owner of the training policy and processes

* Gather and deliver annual performance feedback for reviews

* Coach employees through the Employee Development Process

* Provide ongoing behavioral analysis

* Provide ongoing feedback for leaders and team

* Change management leadership coaching & guidance

* Manage plant hiring process

* Manage new member integration process

Required Qualifications:

* Candidate should be comfortable and enjoy a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and interfacing regularly with internal and external manufacturing and engineering staff as well as a diverse operations crew who works 24/7 in shifts.

* Must have solid project management skills, frequently organizing and independently managing the details of many meetings and urgent needs in a production environment.

* Able to communicate, coach and relate well with very diverse roles across the company.

* High initiative and ability to learn new things is critical.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.

* Able to handle multiple priorities from multiple sources.

* Must be an organized self-starter exhibiting good judgment, critical thinking and the flexibility to adapt to priority changes and demands.

* Must be able to apply software applications to respond to requests with attention to detail and accuracy.

* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, is required.

* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six sigma or Lean manufacturing is preferred.

* Experience in learning development or styles is preferred.

Education:

* Associate's degree and/or 4 years military experience.
