Job Purpose

* The Christmas Coordinator exists to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army by planning and organizing all Christmas efforts, as well as, recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of volunteers for the Christmas effort.Primary Duties and Responsibilities• Plan, organize and coordinate the following programs:Christmas RegistrationToy ShopAdopt – a- familyThanksgiving dinnerCoats for KidsShop with a HeroKettlesElks food Baskets• Supervises and assigns duties to volunteers for all events in planning stage and at actual event including all Christmas activities. • Represent the Salvation Army's values and beliefs in all your dealings• Represent The Salvation Army at official/community meetings as requested by the Corps Officers. Provide written report of meeting to the Officers within two working days following the meeting• Assist the Corps Officers in the effective running of the daily operation of the Corps Community Center by fulfilling all assigned duties.• Willingness to fill in where and as needed to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army- Midland Corp

Qualifications

Qualifications• Basic knowledge and understanding of The Salvation Army mission statement and ability to work within its stated objectives.• Knowledge of community agencies, organizations, and corporations within the Area• Experience with effective implementation of recruitment strategies• Skill in marketing to a professional volunteer audience• Ability to work with others to motivate them to give of their time and skills to The Salvation Army• Experience performing management, outreach, recruitment, and public speaking.• Ability to work with limited supervision, high organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. • Two year degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.• Valid Driver's license and ability to pass The Salvation Army's driving qualifications• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands• Must be able to lift 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.• Ability to bend, reach and stoop.• Prolonged sitting.• Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands and expectations of the Midland Corps Community Center

Position Status: Part time/ Non – Exempt (Hourly)
