Responsibilities

The Pediatric Hospitalist Physician is responsible for overseeing the pediatric in-patients assigned of The Garnet Health Doctors. Pediatric Hospitalists are responsible for providing direct patient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, pediatric patients. The Pediatric Hospitalist Physician is a part of the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission to discharge. This continuum of care includes general pediatric medicine, consults as requested, and management of patients with various comorbidities. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Pediatric Hospitalist will carry out assigned duties displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conducts as well as acting in the best interest of the The Garnet Health Doctors, supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients. The position is responsible for the clinical excellence of Pediatric In Patient care services and for assisting in the development of programs aimed at meeting quality measures and population health management requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy.

Minimum Experience:

2 (two) years of Experience in a Pediatric Hospitalist setting preferred

Required Certification/Registration:

NY State Medical License

Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate

Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics,

PALS, NPR certifications required ACLS, BLS preferred

Stands, walks, sits intermittently throughout the day. Lifts, pushes, pulls light to heavy weights as required.

In-patient Hospital Service of Orange Regional Medical Center. Position will primarily be light work requiring lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required.
