Greenberg Traurig has an excellent opportunity for a junior Associate to join the Public Finance Practice of our Miami office. We offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience working with state and local governments, underwriters and banks in connection with tax-exempt and taxable financings. Experience working with education, housing, public infrastructure and/or securitization transactions is helpful. In the absence of public finance or corporate securitization experience, the successful candidate should have general corporate and/or commercial real estate transactional experience.
This position will support four senior shareholders and a senior associate and clients in a busy national practice, involving a wide range of transactions and projects throughout the country, with particular emphasis in Florida. Tasks will include research of federal and state law, including the Internal Revenue Code, federal securities laws and state and local bond law; preparation of transaction documents, including indentures, loan agreements, ordinances, resolutions and closing documents; preparation of securities underwriting documents, including offering documents, purchase agreements and disclosure materials; due diligence review and communicating with client representatives.
Qualified candidates will have superior drafting and negotiation skills, keen attention to detail, and an excellent academic record. Candidates must also possess the ability and confidence to work independently and demonstrate flexibility and desire to work in a diverse, and fast-paced practice. Prior experience at a regional or national law firm, an outstanding local firm, or a federal or state agency is preferred. Must be admitted to the Florida Bar or eligible for admission to the Florida Bar.
