Registered Nurse - Medical Imaging, Radiology

St. Luke's Health System Meridian, ID

St. Luke's is a nationally recognized leading healthcare organization where people like you drive our success. We are currently searching for more Medical Imaging RN's to join our team! Radiology Nurses assist with over 55 procedures performed throughout Medical Imaging. Nurses work in partnership with Interventional Radiologists and Radiology technologists to provide excellent care to our patients.

Some of the many procedures Nurses sedate for include deep biopsies, abscess drains, chest tubes, bone marrow aspirations, fistulagrams with angioplasty, chemo-embolization and Yttrium 90 radioembolizations. Nurses spend most of their day preparing patients for procedures. This includes performing assessments, starting IV's administering medications, reviewing medical histories and teaching each patient about their upcoming procedure.

Imaging nurses follow their patient into the procedure room to provide sedation and monitoring. Upon completion of the procedure nursing recovers each patient, ensures proper teaching has been completed and a follow up plan is in place. Medical Imaging nurses must have expert assessment and critical thinking skills along with the ability to manage patients in emergent situations.
