The Financial Analyst is responsible and accountable for providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship. The Financial Analyst, under the general supervision of the Director, provides superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service and is primarily concerned with financial analysis and reporting of financial information of Health First, Inc and its affiliates. Additionally, this position will support the Sr Financial Analysts as required for evaluation of service line reporting, forecasting, and performance analytics. This position performs work that is varied and difficult in character, with limited responsibility for recommendations and decisions.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Protect the confidentiality of information and patients in accordance with all applicable laws and policies.
  • Maintain customer focus and commitment to high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of department deliverables. Maintain proper documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budget and forecast for the Operating Entities of Health First.
  • Variance Analysis compared to run rate and forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Monthly reporting and analysis of general ledger accounts and statistics.
  • Assist with preparation of interim and year end audit schedules.
  • Review profitability analysis of the service lines and identify variances.
  • Prepare and post accruals monthly.
  • Prepare and post reclass entries monthly.
  • Prepare KPI and Benchmarking reports.
  • Assist in preparation of proformas.
  • Support and assist with cost savings initiatives.
  • Review information and prevent the dissemination of incorrect or misleading information to customers.
  • Support achievement of specific annual department goals and objectives set by leadership with enthusiasm and insightful participation.
  • BS degree in accounting, finance, or related field, from an accredited college or university required.
  • Prior experience and knowledge in the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Windows.
  • Two to five years healthcare experience in financial analysis required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of clinical/financial information system use.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Enthusiasm and high level of job interest.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Possess computer abilities as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to relate well with all customers and peers
  • Ability to prioritize and organize to maximize quality, value and service.
  • Remain current on all financial regulations and standards.
