POSITIONSUMMARY: The RN is responsible for managingpatients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgicalprocedures; performs the primary function of a professional nurseleader in assessing, planning, guiding, and evaluating nursing careprovided to patients. Assessments related to specificconditions, therapies and interventions are required. The RN shalloversee and guide nursing employees that are under theirsupervision. Responsible for interaction with hospital staffand/or ancillary departments regarding patient care, concerns, andconflicts with identification and assistance in resolutions. Maybe occasions when it will be necessary to work weekends, holidays,evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on-call/call-back status.



1. 6+ months in previous RN positionpreferred.

2. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS'sCompliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with allpolicies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at requiredtraining and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) tothe Compliance Officer.


1. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the Stateof Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a validtemporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receivethe permanent license. BSN preferred.

2. Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degreeor Diploma from a School of Nursing orUniversity.

3. Must have and maintain current certifications, according tounit specific needs (please check all that apply):



Must be current upon hire andthereafter



If required inunit, nurse with a year or less of experience - obtain within 12months of hire;

nurse with overa year of experience - obtain within 6 months of hire;

or if hired with a currentcertification must keep current at all times
