The Post Partum/GYN LPN is responsible for delivery of professional nursing care according to the established policies of the department, West Jefferson Medical Center and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. The Post Partum/GYN LPN is a direct patient care provider who demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to Post-Partum/GYN - Surgical and Newborn patients. Typical direct patient care includes those who are at minimally-to-moderately high risk and to a large extent care is routine, standardized and outcomes are predictable. The Post Partum/GYN LPN must also be able to identify changes in the patient#s condition and status and intervening appropriately in the care of Obstetrical, Post-Partum/GYN - Surgical and Newborn patients. The Post Partum/GYN LPN recognizes his/her personal and legal limitations and seeks assistance and guidance from the Registered Nurse. The Post Partum/GYN LPN directs and monitors the activities of support service personnel and ancillary nursing team members.*
