Position Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for producing, monitoring, and/or cleaning component parts from written and verbal instructions through the operation of various laser machine processes in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Operate production equipment to produce component parts from work instructions and prints, insuring correct material, tooling, processes, programs and forms are being used

Inspect and monitor the quality of the parts produced per visual and dimensional requirements

Perform basic daily preventative maintenance as required for production equipment

Know and understand customer, statutory and regulatory requirements including implied

Know and understand the Quality Management System and ensure the requirements are met

Complete job-related paperwork, QHR, SPC charts, and reports

Know and follow all safety policies, procedures and practices including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required

Keep the facility clean and organized

Recommend process improvements and changes for increased quality or efficiency

Assist in training on production procedures and/or machines

Monitoring process variables to produce acceptable product per work instructions and customer requirements

Expectation to communicate clearly with other employees and function in a team environment

Perform various tasks or duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Requirements

High school graduate with 3 to 5 years of industrial experience preferred but not required

Ability to read and understand written and verbal work instructions

Experience with various production processes, hand tools, and basic measurement equipment

Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision

Good computer, written and verbal communication skills

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform measurements using various measuring equipment

Ability to use microscope or visual aid equipment for long periods of time
