Technical Support Representative

SCOPE

Technical Support Representatives are responsible for providing service to customers by interpreting application and electronic component selection for sales, customers, suppliers, and other departments within Mouser to assist in the decision of buying, selling, and providing quality technical assistance to ensure effective customer service.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Interacts and communicates effectively with sales, customers, suppliers, and other Mouser departments. Communicates and coordinates requests and requirements with Quote Center, Sales, Techs, Products, Suppliers, and Management and provides application and technical assistance when requested.

Builds professional relationships with supplier representatives and Field Application Engineers by attending local supplier and company meetings and traveling to supplier sponsored seminars and industry trade shows to represent Mouser.

Uses resources effectively to provide customers the best component selection for the application and offers associated items with product support. Also provides Mouser website and online chat support.

Exhibits strong analytical, organizational and time management skills. Analyzes the impact of decisions before execution and is detailed and thorough in work habits with the ability to multi-task.

Supports and participates in company total quality process and represents the company in a professional manner. Works with minimum supervision and makes independent decisions. Maintains proper phone coverage during scheduled work hours

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school degree or equivalent; 2 year related technical degree in electronic engineering or technology is preferred.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

* Exhibits potential for advancement to a Technical Support Specialist position

* Exhibits understanding of technical specifications to assist in the selection of semiconductor, electromechanical and optoelectronic components

* Exhibits proficiency in the use of block diagrams, schematics, test equipment, and test procedures to analyze and troubleshoot printed circuit board assemblies and sub-assemblies

* Ability and desire to provide technical sales support to customer

* Ability to understand verbal and written communication of electronic applications and components

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, groups, or public events

* Proficient PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment: Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software

* Excellent at written and clear verbal communication on the telephone, email or in person and interacts effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization

* Skills evaluation: Math 90%, Spelling 80%, Excel 70% and Typing 40 WPM

* Valid driver's license, proof of insurance and good driving record
