Help the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) support MITG IT in coordination with the Global IT and GSO initiatives. The position will serve as a liaison between the MITG IT unit for the consumption of security related services provided by GSO and other Global IT teams. The incumbent will become intimately familiar with the products and services, day-to-day operations, and projects within MITG.

The incumbent will provide the business with expert advice and hands on assistance with all matters related to information risk management and IT security to ensure satisfactory and successful outcomes that both protect and enable the business. The incumbent will have detailed knowledge and understanding of the various functions within the GSO and Global IT and be able to efficiently and effectively direct business and project teams to the appropriate GSO and Global IT teams and/or processes based on business need.

This position works independently with Global IT, business, and project teams and requires excellent oral and written communication skills, political savvy, a customer focus, and ability to influence across a matrixed organization

A Day in the Life

* Actively support a manageable portfolio of projects from start to finish in accordance with Medtronic IT policies and processes, produce clear, detailed project scoping and design documentation to be used by technical specialists to build appropriate solutions

* Elicit and develop clear, traceable requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis

* Assist in the development of business cases, considering financial, resource, and technological constraints; develops cost estimates with consideration to business impacts and risks

* Develop a thorough understanding of Medtronic's and assigned business partner's strategies, goals and objectives.

* Develop an understanding of assigned business partner's products and services and their reliance on Global IT services to design, deliver, and support quality products and services in an efficient and effective manner that also minimizes risks to patient safety.

* Inform and educate assigned business partner staff by identifying the emerging, business-relevant threats and risks to Medtronic's information assets as well as data entrusted to Medtronic by clinicians and patients.

* Serve as a conduit between your business partner and GSO teams; engage the appropriate GSO and Global IT teams to assist in successfully addressing assigned business partners' information risk management and IT security needs.

* Constructively engage business partner staff regarding information security issues and security incidents impacting the business or geographic unit.

Must Haves

* 7+ years of IT experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, or other related field of study and/or equivalent business experience.

* Knowledge of security and privacy laws/regulations, especially SOX, PCI-DSS, GLBA, & HIPAA

* Willingness to travel up to 20%

Nice to Haves

* An understanding of ITIL concepts (Foundation knowledge or higher) and procedures. ITIL Certification, preferred

* Background in all aspects of information security, technology governance and compliance processes.

* Knowledge of software development methodologies, application security, and OWASP guidelines.

* Strong written and oral communication skills, including meeting facilitation, and an ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical staff.

* Knowledge of a broad range of technologies including, but not limited to: client platforms (including mobile devices), servers, networking, storage, databases, virtualization, middleware, web, and cloud.

* Knowledge of networks and systems with ability to understand security requirements documents for such assets as routers, switches, firewalls, Windows and UNIX systems, database systems, applications, and security architectures.

* Experience working with internal stakeholders or customers.

* 3+ years in progressive IT Security / Governance roles

* IT risk management and security as an IT security practitioner.

* 3+ years of experience with information security and risk related processes, technologies, and toolsets.
