* POSITION SUMMARY

* Performs a variety of duties relating to the provision of meals to patients and customers and nourishments to patients.

* KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, grill, toaster , cash register, processors, and frappe machine.

* Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.

* Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

* Ensures that all required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.

* Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment or other unusual conditions.

* Follows proper food handling techniques using HACCP standards. Records food and food storage temperatures as required.

* Sets up salad bar area maintaining par levels and communicate with Supervisor for additional items to be prepped.

* Operates and safety uses all types of food service production equipment.

* Uses FIFO standards when utilizing food supplies.

* Maintains a clean and organized work area. Responsible for meeting Manchester Board of Health, Stage, and TJC standards.

* Participates in opening and closing responsibilities.

* Performs cashier duties as assigned, and addresses any overage or shortages within established guidelines .

* Assists in dish washing and other clean up, helps co-workers whenever possible.

* Participates in role in fire safety, quality management, food safety, disaster plan, accident prevention and reporting, and infection control.

* Participates in opening and closing responsibilities.

* Preforms general routine and non-routine cleaning duties. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.

* Ensures that equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation.

* Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

* REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

* Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and positive working relationships within the department, with other employees, and the public.

* Ability to proceed alone following standard practices for routine procedures, and refer questions or problems to supervisor.

* Exercises care in the operation and use of equipment and reference materials.

* EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE

* Education: High school diploma or a GED is strongly preferred.

* Experience: Previous patient experience preferred.

* Certification/Licensure: Serve Safe certificate preferred.

* OTHER REQUIREMENTS

* Schedule: Variable, every other weekend, 5:30 am to 7:30pm, possible 3rd shift, rotating major holidays.
