Office of the CIO Project Manager

To manage the design, development, testing and implementation of Corporate and Divisional Projects.

Initially this role will assist in a number of areas, mainly:

1) Creating and producing integrated division level reporting on topics such as resource utilization/financials/KPI performance,

2) Helping to shape and coordinate division level governance (including certain IT&S senior staff sessions)

3) Playing a strategic hub role with divisional space planning. Over time, as divisional planning matures, this individual could end up performing just one of these functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manages/leads/participates on large scale business projects. Identifies, evaluates and elevates issues that impact the completion of projects. Resolves problems that impact project completion as needed. Provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary. Reports and presents on project status and results as required.

2. Provides recommendations and reports that increase the management team's understanding of the business, clients and activities based on working knowledge of the business, its strategies, key objectives and goals.

3. Leads teams that proactively uncover and identify process improvement/efficiency opportunities within the business areas. Communicates observations and provides corrective strategies/recommendations along with the likely business impact of these recommendations.

4. Leads teams that analyze business/operational data and business performance trends. Identifies their correlated business/activity drivers. Ensures data reliability and integrity. Communicates observations and recommendations to appropriate business partners.

5. Functions as a liaison with VUE coordinators, process owners, business partners and project leaders to ensure consistency of data interpretation and usage.

6. Manages responses to requests for information related to internal business statistics, industry statistics & trends. Engages appropriate resources to support requests, determines appropriate sources of information, collects, compiles, interprets, analyzes and summarizes results incorporating and considering the overall business strategy. Communicates/presents information to management team.

7. Establishes and maintains close working relationships with appropriate crew and management to continually enhance understanding of industry trends and client business needs. Incorporates business requirements into useful reports and presentations to assist management with decisions making and informational needs.

8. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.

* Minimum eight years related experience.

* Familiarity with systems used within business preferred.

* High level of technical proficiency with Word, Power Point, Excel, Essbase and statistical analysis software preferred.

* Capable of learning new industry, company, product, technical knowledge, and business skills.

* Ability to quickly become knowledgeable in current and future policies, practices, trends and information affecting Vanguard's business and organization.

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
