General Summary:Advarra is looking for a senior technology leader to lead the effort in designing, building, and operating the next generation cloud platform for Advarra products and services.

*We are looking for resources in GMT/UTC/Western Europe and the US - Eastern/Central time zones.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Player-Coach role: 75% technical leader & 25% customer facing
  • Design, build, and operate next generation cloud platforms in AWS
  • Create scalable AWS infrastructure, design deployment pipelines and build monitoring and resilience into platform
  • Design and implement cloud authentication strategies
  • Design and lead the team in keeping the runbooks current
  • Manage costs in a SaaS environment
  • Produce analytics and models to drive margins across cloud business
  • Responsible for SDLC best practices, manage backlog, epics and development releases
  • Focus on initial customer acquisition, new product launches and growth of the Advarra Cloud solution
  • Deliver new approaches in design to reduce cost, improve efficiency, improve resilience and/or increase customer satisfaction
  • Partner with sales/cross functional teams to ensure customer requirements fit the solution and value is seen
  • Engage with customers to understand technical and security aspects of Advarra Cloud
  • Onboard customers to Advarra Cloud
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience in DevOps, Software Development or System Administration
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries and various security related industry standards (i.e., ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type 2 & HIPAA)
  • Healthcare software, clinical trial management systems, and/or related experience is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Professional experience with the following technology:
    • Professional experience with the following technology:
      • Linux administration
      • Technology experience includes Terraform, Ansible, and Python
    • Infrastructure as Code experience specific to AWS is required
    • Experience managing Kanban boards and Jira is required
    • Scripting and automation skills for working in an AWS environment
    • Experience with continuous integration and deployment of SaaS environments
    • Experience with configuration management tools, managing container-based platforms
    • Experience with DevOps and release management tools
    • Experience building highly secure cloud solutions in regulated industries is a plus
    • Excellent documentation skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with cross functional teams
    • Fast learner, highly organized and experienced in demonstrating focus to complete the highest priorities

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation.
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 25 Lbs.
