Technical Training Lead

The Mediasite training team is responsible for driving market adoption of Mediasite among Mediasite customers and resellers in our partner programs. We do this by creating scalable programs that build knowledge of the Mediasite suite of products and create enthusiasm among our customers, partners and employees. You will be responsible for managing and conducting all aspects of product training, including online video training, live training webcasts and other forms of training materials used internally and externally.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and enthusiastic professional with a strong technical background who has the ability to explain technical details in a non-technical manner. You should also possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to effectively manage complex projects, be comfortable on camera and be genuinely excited about teaching others how to use the Mediasite Video Platform to leverage video to get their message out to the world. You are passionate about the success of our customers using Mediasite.


* Manage and conduct all aspects of product training programs from initial idea and development to execution in a variety of mediums, including webinars, how-to videos, online learning modules, PPT, data sheets, etc.

* Build strong relationships with external customers and internal subject matter experts to identify necessary training modules and deliver accurate training to external Mediasite end users and stakeholders and Sonic Foundry's internal support team, hosting administrators and sales engineer.

* Ability to extract technical information from Sonic Foundry engineers and convey product design, functionality and features to employees and customers.

* Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training and stakeholder requirements and keep technical training information up to date.

* Develop criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of current training modules/activities.

* Develop and manage a consolidated repository where all training resources live.

* Project-manage communications of new product releases and capabilities, working with team and channels including webcasts, training videos, blog posts and data sheets.

* Act as a customer liaison in the online Mediasite Community, answering questions directly or through blog posts.

* Project-manage Ideas section of online Mediasite Community.

Experience & Qualifications

* 3 to 5 years of training creation experience necessary.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with positive energy and a professional appearance necessary.

* Comfortable on-camera in pre-recorded and live video webcasts.

* Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.

* Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques.

* Curiosity and willingness to test new training methods and tools.

* Proven track-record of creating and managing training for a technical product.

* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

* Basic video/audio production skills and best practices.

* Strong project management skills.

* MS Office proficiency.

* Basic proficiency with non-linear video editing tools like Premiere or Final Cut Pro.

* Proficient in Mediasite from an end-user point of view a plus.

* Ability to travel as needed
