Referral and Prior Authorization Representative - Admissions

Bring your patient billing and scheduling experience to UW Health.

We are seeking a Referral and Prior Authorization Representative to:

* Contact payers to obtain prior authorizations for straightforward requests not requiring clinical experience.

* Provide additional information requested by payers for pending authorization requests.

* Assist the Specialist in running referral reports as needed and take incoming referral calls for back-up if needed.

Education:

Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

* Strong organizational skills

* Knowledge of patient billing and scheduling software preferred

* Familiarity with the prior authorization process

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with one weekend every 3-4 months, 7:00 am -3:30 pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
