PURPOSE & EXPECTATIONS

The purpose of this position is to provide direction to manufacturing personnel in order to meet quality, cost and delivery expectations of our customers as well as maintain a clean and organized working environment for our associates. The Production Shift Supervisor will accomplish this by consistent application of company policies, procedures and guidelines, communicating manufacturing-related goals and objectives including quality, throughput, customer service, on-time delivery, as well as participation in on-the-job training for associates, disciplinary & attendance/payroll tracking. The Production Shift Supervisor is expected to play a key role in the development of a harmonious workforce by helping to create a work environment that is free from third party representation. The Production Shift Supervisor is also responsible to ensure that the manufacturing environment is in compliance with all safety and housekeeping related regulations. The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for implementation of quality systems as identified in the Flambeau Inc., Madison GA Quality Manual and supporting documentation. There may be other duties and responsibilities expected that are too numerous and varied to describe in this format.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Monitor & maintain people requirements/assignments for manufacturing personnel.

* Technical understanding of injection/blow molding processes.

* Disposition of attendance & disciplinary issues.

* Communicate with & train production personnel regarding customer & company expectations.

* Facilitate the implementation of corrective action for non-complying product.

* Monitor/track spc & quality reports for shift.

* Review, analyze and implement corrective action related to daily manufacturing results.

* Provide direction and review performance of manufacturing personnel.

* Coordinate all manufacturing efforts to meet required production schedule.

* Monitor expense controls and implement corrective action as required.

* Maintain a clean and well organized work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Sitting, standing or walking for periods up to two hours at a time.

* Reaching, feeling, handling or grasping,

* Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling 40 pounds or less.

* Working seated at desk/computer terminal up to four hours at a time.

* Twisting/turning.

* Ability to properly distinguish colors and shades of colors.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

* Inside office and on the manufacturing floor as required.

* Occasional travel may be required.

EQUIPMENT USED

* General office equipment and systems such as computers, telephone/voice mail, calculator, facsimile, spreadsheet, word processing & email software.

* Personal protective equipment as required.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

* Working knowledge of plastic injection & blow molding processing and materials.

* Working knowledge of project engineering, quality systems and practices.

* Working knowledge of maintenance and facilities engineering.

* Working knowledge of manufacturing practices.

* Ability to follow all company work rules, policies, procedures and guidelines.

Required Experience

EDUCATION

HS Diploma or GED, prefer degree in Manufacturing or related discipline or equivalent work experience.

MEDICAL
