This role is responsible for providing a variety of routine patient careactivities and support services including general clerical and reception dutiesunder the supervision of a registered nurse. Assists nurse, physicians, and families as needed

Recognizeschanges in patient status and reports appropriate information to registerednurse.Assistswith admission, transportation and discharge of patientsDemonstratesknowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span of thepatient to include neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric.Assistspatient with dressing and undressingAssistspatient with grooming and maintaining proper and clean appearanceAssistspatient with elimination/toileting needsAssiststhe patient with oral careAssistspatients in transferring, repositioning, alignment and ambulationAccommodatespatient's needs through responding appropriately to patient's verbal/nonverbalexpressions of needs

Keeps patient's livingareas pleasant and orderly

Maintains patient's selfesteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information.

Provides patients withopportunities for independence and choice consistent with their plan of care.

Assures patient's rightsare protected and that all patients, families, and significant others are madeaware of patient's rights.

Measures body functionsand documents care provided to patients

Receives and sharesinformation, observes and reports patients condition and any change of statusto registered nurse

Provides Safety, Sitterservices for the patient as assigned

Demonstrates and practicesappropriate hand hygiene in delivery of patient care

Otherduties as assigned.

Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required& preferred):

HighSchool Diploma or GED required. BLS required.

State CNAcertification preferred.

Experience(required and preferred):

One year nursing assistant experience in acuteor long-term care or successful completion of 1 semester medical/surgical clinicalexperience in a nursing program or successful completion of nursing assistantprogram.
