Work Environment: Fast paced enviroment in the UPS Global Operations Center. Various rotating work schedules and hours.
Job Summary: Reports to Flight Control Manager on daily airline operations and is responsible to ensure Flight Control department adheres to all applicable FAA regulations, policies and procedures.
Job Description: Identify and analyze any conditions that may affect any part of the airline system, and formulate necessary operational plans that maintain the integrity, safety and efficiency of flight operations. Ensure sufficient Flight Control staff and equipment are available and properly functioning as necessary to conduct safe and efficient airline flight operations on each shift. Verify that all flights are correctly assigned to Dispatchers. Implementation of Flight Operations contingency plans when interruptions to the Airline's activities occur.
Required Skills: Must possess an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate with at least 5 years of dispatch or related experience. Previous supervisory experience and knowledge of airline operations.
Additional Skills: Experience with Lido, WSI, Fusion, Aerodata and Flight Explorer. International flight operations experience preferred.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong managerial skills and ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities. Ability to manage people.
Additional Notes: Drug screen and Dispatcher competence exam after conclusion of training.
