Full-time Regular Hours Per Week: 40 Days of Week: M-F Shift Schedule: Specific Work Schedule: Posting Options: Internal and External Position Summary:

* Reporting to the School of Film and Television (SFTV) Head of Production Administrator (HOPA), this position oversees The Playa Vista Campus Equipment Room and works with SFTV administration, faculty, and staff to strategize and coordinate all equipment and production technical support needs at the campus.

Position Specific Responsibilities:

* Oversees the purchase, maintenance, and check out/in of all camera, lighting/grip, and production sound and post-production portable sound equipment for The Playa Vista Campus. Works in concert with SFTV Tech Staff to strategize equipment purchases and ensure consistency of equipment inventories across SFTV's multiple locations.

* Manages The Playa Vista Campus Equipment Room and the student workers who work there. Ensures equipment is functioning and in good working order and that orders are prepared properly and efficiently.

* Works with faculty for SFTV academic programs, including certificate Programs/workshops, to ensure that their technical needs are met and that equipment is available and prepped for class exercises.

* Provide technical support and assistance for SFTV faculty, staff, teaching assistants and students with production and post-production equipment, systems and facilities.

* Acts as Access Control back-up for The Playa Vista campus.

* Keep abreast of new developments in hardware and software related to production and post-production.

* Maintain the policies, standards, and procedures as defined by and consistent with University requirements.

* A comprehensive knowledge of media production and technology for all aspects of production including camera, lighting and grip, and sound recording is required.

* A minimum of five years of varied and progressively more responsible duties in the media creation industry, such as a strong track record working in an equipment rental facility or free-lance production. Additional experience in a university setting highly desirable.

* Ability to assist students in the development of professional attitudes and disciplines while performing work on class projects or as student workers providing support for the SFTV.

* Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to provide consultation and assistance in the area of production equipment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills to relate with faculty, staff, and students competently.

* Demonstrated computer competency

Required Education:

* Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge and skills.
