Security Dispatcher

Under the supervision of the Security Dispatch Manager, dispatches Security Personnel to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Process and record emergency and routine complaints for service. Answers incoming phone calls, operates a computer dispatch system, and monitors alarms systems. Monitor and direct appropriate response to all calls for service, visually monitor extensive CCTV system, and other duties assigned. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to type at least 30wpm.

Responsibilities

Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to type at least 30wpm.

This is a limited 6 month appointment

Qualifications

Communicate with allied security/police agencies to coordinate emergency/non-emergency information in real-time. (Required)

Demonstrates the ability to operate a 2 way radio base station system, ability to operate telephone equipment. (Required)

The ability to use proper security/police terminology to disseminate/receive information from field units, allied agencies for emergent and non-emergent calls for service. (Calls received by radio, telephone, passersby). (Preferred)

Demonstrates the ability to practice and adhere to UCLA CI-CARE practices to all clientele. (Will Train)

Properly dispatch/categorize all call types for service. Knowledge of all changing instruction(s) via email, phone, in-person, co-worker(s), supervision, management, police, client(s), and whiteboard pass-on (verbal-written). (Will Train)

Ability to operate a access control system. (Will Train)

Knowledge of CCTV system established protocols/operation of all equipment including tracking maintenance needs of cameras, servers. Knowledge/Identify contact assistance for any operational issues that may affect views/footage. Knowledge of camera locations. Positions, PTZ's vs Fixed, monitor suspect(s) movement for in progress investigations and all recent activity. (Preferred)

Completes 5-7 weeks of training with a CTO (Certified training Officer) to work in a fast paced environment Ability to retain information, multi-task in a high pressure environment Valid CA Driver's License 120 hour basic California Post Certification, (Preferred).

Ability to work various shifts, hours, days, weekends and holidays. (Required)
