Group Sales Manager

Position Summary:

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for the management of specific group accounts within an assigned area. They will generate rooms and banquet revenue from, existing and potential accounts, coordinating customer requirements with other departments in order to achieve maximum guest satisfaction and profitability for the hotel.

Essential Functions:

* Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Generate top line revenue from existing and potential accounts (selling rooms & banquet) in assigned market.

* Implement agreed rate structure and strategy for assigned group market segments.

* Prepare proposals, conduct rate negotiations, issue contracts and convert contracts to definite.

* Frequent sales presentations, off property sales calls, customer site tours and customer entertaining as required

* Participate in professional organizations to maintain high visibility and drive revenues

* Attain monthly goal for prospecting calls to generate new sources of business from new industries or areas

* Effectively communicate with other hotel departments, regional and global sales staff

* Be a daily role model of world class luxury in personal appearance and behavior.

* On-going self driven education on hotel, hotel industry

Requirements:

Job Requirements:

* Proven track record of exceeding goals through individual sales efforts

* Ability and willingness to work weekends, evenings and travel as required

* A reasonable understanding of the upper-upscale or luxury hotel industry

* Basic computer skills (typing, Fidelio PMS or similar, Microsoft Office)

* Excellent verbal and written English skills.
