The Residential Education staff at the University of Southern California provides community, support services, and education for 9,200 students living within USC Housing. The Assistant Director (AD) position is a full-time, live-in professional staff member who plays an integral role in the implementation of a residential life program that encourages student and community engagement through their supervision and oversight of critical functions. The Assistant Directors play a significant role in furthering the mission of the University of Southern California, the strategic initiatives of the Division of Student Affairs and the mission, vision, and core values of the Office for Residential Education. This position performs a variety of important daily operation tasks including oversight and implementation of the Residential Experience, maintaining the Residential Experience App, serving as a liaison to housing, and serving on divisional committees or task forces.

Under the supervision of an Associate Director, the Assistant Director-Residential Experience is responsible for the management of the Residential College Cup, other elements of the Residential Experience, and direct collaboration with Campus Activities. The AD will be responsible for the training of Residential Community/College Coordinators (RCCs) Graduate Residential College/Community Coordinators (GRCCs) and student staff (Resident Assistants) in all aspects of the Residential Experience and Community Engagement Model. In addition to the essential duties listed, the ADs provide overall vision and leadership in the development of a robust academic and social environment for residents, with student well-being at the forefront.

* Education: Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education/Student Affairs or Human Services field is required.

* Work Experience: An ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of post-Master work experience within residence life or campus activities as well as someone who has demonstrated leadership ability and skill to work effectively with staff and students.

* 2 years

Minimum Field of Expertise:

* Experience advising a student organization and/or students regarding various student services.

* Requires theoretical understanding in the area of organizational behavior.

* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
