Hours: Part-time (32 hours/week)

Partnering with families for the well-being of children is our top priority.

As the Adoption Specialist, you will conduct quality family assessments, placement and post placement supervision in compliance with agency guidelines, state licensing regulations. The Adoption Specialist will ensure the best resources are available for children entrusted for adoption placement.

* Promote Bethany's adoption programs: Domestic Infant, Foster Care, and International.

* Conduct periodic adoption group meetings for prospective families interested in adoption for orientation and support.

* Conduct home studies for initially approved families according to agency expectations and procedures.

* Assist in adoption planning sessions along with other adoption and birth parent counseling staff.

* Conduct placements of children according to policies for families that have been studied and approved for adoptive placements.

* Provide post adoptive supervision of children in placement.

* Submit post placement reports at appropriate times and make closing of adoptions according to schedule recommendations by the court.

* Organize and manage time so all reports and documents are completed in a timely fashion and included in adoption records.

* Attend training as needed and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service.

* Meet regularly with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction and to evaluate progress.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* BSW or BA/BS in a human service field.

* 3 years of experience in a human or social service field.

* Demonstrate excellent clinical and assessment skills.

* Demonstrate verbal and written communications skills.

* Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions.

* Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.

* Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, Cultural Diversity Commitment.

Desired Qualification:

* Completed SAFE training.

* MSW or MA/MS in a human service field.

* CPR and First Aid for Children and Family (Current)
