Sr. Mission Manager/Sales Engineer

The Mission Management team at Vector leads at a programmatic level, the successful execution of the terms and conditions agreed to by contract with our customers. They are the main interface between the Vector technical teams and our customers and help to ensure that our missions are successful and timely. The Sr. Mission Manager / Sales Engineer will work for the Director of Mission Management and support both mission management and sales engineering activities. Work will include creation and execution of mission specific analysis, customer management and coordination up through launch, physical payload integration at launch sites or appropriate customer facilities, and pre-sales engineering support for the sales team members. Travel to customers and launch sites will be required.


* Responsible for payload (customer) contract execution from point of sale to post flight.

* Work with the Sales team on applicable sales engineering (pre-sales support) and mission management tasks.

* Review and execution of Launch Service Agreements (LSA's) and associated Statements of Work (SOW's).

* Development of payload Interface Control Documentation (ICD) creation, delegate work as required.

* Manage directly payload integration and launch to orbit.

* Manage the creation and execution of all mission specific analysis and products with all applicable technical teams.

* Give inputs to design of interfaces to customers and their hardware. Ability to understand and drive inputs to the Vector payload deployment hardware.

* Give inputs to the top level corporate launch manifest.

* Assist and train younger Mission Integrators / sales staff when asked.

* Ability to participate in industry conferences, comfortable speaking in front of anyone.

* Engineering or applied science background. BS from an accredited university.

* Minimum of 5 years direct exposure / experience with launch vehicles and payload integration.

* Desire to take on increasing levels of responsibility.

* Desire to help take mission specific work away from the engineering disciplines in to the Mission Management Team. Willing to learn to do some of these tasks where applicable.


* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

* 40 hrs per week / Part Time

* Occasional U.S. travel will be required
