Based at our Lorton, VA facility, we seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for performing various mechanical maintenance and repair work including the inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment.

The Mechanic/Welder responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

* Inspect and adjust the mechanical alignment of pumps;

* Replace or rebuild pumps;

* Replace fan bearings;

* Replace motors;

* Repair screw conveyors;

* Rebuild or change gearboxes;

* Install and modify pipe lines;

* Re-pack and repair valves;

* Assist in the modification of existing or addition of new plant projects;

* General plant welding and code welding repairs on boiler pressure parts.

Initial work schedule is 10 hour shifts (days).

Overtime and shift schedule changes will be required during planned and unplanned boiler outages.

Position Requirements

To qualify you must have at least three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.

A HS Diploma/GED and valid drivers license is a must.

Formal technical or apprenticeship training is desired.

* Must be fluent in reading blue prints and P & ID's.

* Must be capable of performing welding in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW.

* Welding of stainless, inconel, etc. a plus.

Must be currently certified to NBIC code specs, or able to qualify within 6 months as a condition of employment.

Basic knowledge or experience in general rigging practices.

Experience with basic machine shop equipment.

Strong leadership and motivational skills as well as the ability to innovate and complete projects with little direct supervision is a must. Back to top
