Serving the needs of the Medicaid population requires a well-oiled machine. The Orthodontic Lab Technicians mission is to support the Orthodontist and Ortho Assistants in providing excellent, high-quality care to patients at a pediatric Orthodontic department of our practices.


Integrity & Accountability: Demonstrates high integrity in all activities; does not cut corners to achieve goals. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions. Understand, monitor and ensure effective execution of all policies and procedures by (1) completing administrative tasks correctly and on time and ensure compliance with HIPAA, (2) Conducting Quarterly Radiation report to ensure compliance with all OSHA rules and regulations, (3) Ensure clinic is following all infection control guidelines and protocols as outlined in the CDC, DANB, ADA, (4) Adhering to state and federal guidelines by monitoring biological and chemical wash solution as well as monitoring spore stripe testing to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and Ortho equipment and

Establish clear communication with teammates to ensure optimal patient experience and respond promptly to customers needs by supporting the Ortho team in all technical aspects and displaying passion and optimism. Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of dental processes, including but not limited to: (1) Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments, Ortho supplies and equipment, and assembles, wraps and sterilizes trays of instruments. Follows proper Standard Precautions while in decontamination and sterilization areas, (2) Assists with maintaining established department policies and procedures, objectives, and quality improvement, safety, and environment and infection control standard, (3) Responsible for examining molds properly of patients mouths by pouring plaster in dental impression and allowing plaster to set and safely store for optimal mold quality. (4) Performs environmental maintenance duties and assists in maintaining inventory levels in sterile processing and in equipment storage areas, (5) Follows proper Standard Precautions while decontaminating and sterilizing instruments, supplies and equipment, and assembles dental instrument for use, (6) Responsible for examining molds properly of patients mouths by pouring plaster in dental impression and allowing plaster to set and safely store for optimal mold quality, and (7) Responsible for making all plastic orthodontic appliances such as Essix retainers, and capable of shaping, grinding, carving, and assembling metal and plastics such as retainers, tooth bands, and positioners, using spatula, pliers, soldering torch, and electric grinders and polishers.

Collaboration with others to provide and understand our vision and inspire peers by demonstrating lab support and (1) Being able to work in a fast-paced environment by restocking , labeling, and maintaining lab inventory for staff use, and (2) Sort mismatch sets of instruments, trays, and equipment and makes them available for the team in a timely manner, and (3) Verifies that equipment functions properly, applies for equipment maintenance repair or replacement, removes defective equipment, and records all maintenance activity.


* Able to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and on time.

* Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, listening to staff and patients needs and possesses a friendly and outgoing demeanor.

* Preferred knowledge of Dolphin software


* High school diploma or GED.

* Previous work experience in a Ortho practice is a plus, but will train.
