The targeted salary for this job opening is set at $8,750 per month. The salary range for this classification is $6,249 to $11,406 per month.


Institutional Research and Assessment

Appointment Dates

Full-time temporary position to June 30, 2021 with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Position Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Institutional Research and Analytics, the Assistant Director for Data Management & Administration serves as a data modeler and architect, SQL/PLSQL programmer, and data warehouse administrator for the Institutional Research and Analytics Data Warehouse (IRADW). The incumbent will design, develop, architect, and administer conceptual, logical, and physical data models with an end-to-end vision to support the creation of the new IRADW. The incumbent develops and sustains the analytic and data warehouse infrastructure for decision-making as it relates to student success and Graduation Initiative GI 2025. This position will develop and maintain data dictionary definitions, data life-cycle management, perform data modeling, and ensure data quality and data warehouse structures.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of research techniques and methods for gathering and analyzing research data. Knowledge of statistical procedures and principles. Ability to assist and prepare questionnaires. Working knowledge of desktop word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to perform basic and advanced statistical analyses and reporting using PC-based software, e.g. SAS, R, Python or SPSS. Ability to present data in various media (e.g., paper, electronic, web-based, Tableau).

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Communications, or related technical field and five years of related experience required.
