Position Description

The Administrative Support Coordinator (ASC) performs various duties to facilitate the faculty, students, and campus administration. The ASC supports all clerical and receptionist operations and functions of the academic office. In addition, the coordinator will assist Department Chair in maintaining and collecting annual reports of student performance. The ASC assists students in following University and Department guidelines. Maintains files and records for the Department. Assists with the preparation of schedules, classroom assignments, course catalogue, curriculum proposals, and directories. Maintains the department website and assists with planning and coordinating events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to correctly photocopy, scan and FAX documents. Basic web editing skills. Effective, grammatically correct, written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Working knowledge of PTCAS, Cal State Apply, and PeopleSoft.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
