Position Description

Technical Ladder/ Materials, Applications, & Paint Mix Lead Team Manager

Duties/Responsibilities

Identify root cause and determine countermeasures for paint quality defects.

Generate reports on paint measurable (Appearance, Color, and Gloss).

Analyze date tends and understanding change point impacts.

Create and maintain project schedules.

Coordinate with suppliers and various groups to implement innovative products and technologies.

Assist in managing paint inventory and inventory forecasting.

Analyze manufacturing cost to budget and implement coat and efficiency saving activity.

Support other zones in achieving plant targets.

Daily Task Performed

Support paint quality outflow improvement items.

Collect and analyze paint color and appearance data.

Coordinate with suppliers to generate follow-up reports, manage inventory, and implement new products.

Participate in brain storming and information sharing meetings.

Support production with process assistance if needed.

Update management with project milestones and concerns.

Position Requirements

Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge

Strong understanding of math (cost analysis & forecasting).

Understanding of Material/ Chemical behavior (pH, viscosity, bake windows).

Minimum Job Relevant Experience-(Type & Length of Time)

Minimum 3 month internship in manufacturing facility or 1 year research assistant.

Education/Degree Certification Required

Preferred 4 year Engineering degree

Required Skills

Able to differentia slight offsets of color (Munsel Color Test, >75% Pass) Leadership experience.

Experience in chemical background.

Able to display strong understanding problem solving and arithmetic.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint, Excel and Word).

Willing to work overtime as needed.

Willing to work various shifts, holidays, and weekends if needed.

Desired Skills and Abilities

Experience with automotive paint (OEM, tier, or refinish).

Experience with ABB or Fanuc robots.

Understanding of environmental impactors (VOC, HAPS, waste water treatment).

Experience with BYK Gardener instruments and Smartchart software.

Experience with Data PAQ.

Experience with X-Rite.

Additional Work Factors

Environment candidates will be working in: Lab (1 Team Manager, 3 Engineering Associates) in Paint Shop which contains some fumes and heat from oven

Estimated amount of overtime: 2-10hrs/week

Frequency, average duration of travel: 5%
