Overview:

Kaleido Biosciences seeking a candidate for a Research Associate position in Analytical chemistry to aid in the construction and application of a high throughput platform that applies drug discovery principles to the study of the microbiome. This individual will join a dynamic, highly collaborative team that combines significant drug discovery experience with leading edge knowledge of microbiome biology and computational approaches.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work closely with senior personnel as well as independently to

  • Maintain of analytical instruments including routine maintenance, minor repairs, monitoring quality control metrics, and accessory logistics of GC, HPLC, and MS platforms.
  • Run routine analytical assays across multiple instruments.
  • Work with members of the Chemistry, Biology, and Pharmacology departments to develop, validate, and execute analytical assays in support of the goals of those departments.
  • Analyze data and generate oral and written reports on performed experiments. Present results to team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or Analytical chemistry.
  • 1-3 years relevant industrial experience.
  • The candidate should have experience with modern analytical methods (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and NMR) including instrumental maintenance and repair.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented individual with demonstrated ability in managing multiple instruments/accessories/records and documentation.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team including microbiology, pharmacology, and clinical research.
  • Great collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
