The Placements Unit Specialist works with the staff of the Placements Unit, within the Children’s Review Program, to facilitate aspects of the placement process for children in the custody of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The Placements Specialist serves as a liaison between providers, community partners, social service workers, and Children’s Review Program staff. The Placements Specialist will also provide administrative support and handle day-to-day operations in an office setting to ensure program goals and objectives are met.

Fully Funded with Federal and Cabinet for Health and Family Services funds

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences or closely related field OR
  • High school degree and one (1) year of combined experience with data and information collection and management and collaboration on team projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and applications (e.g., FindTime, Excel).

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Minimum of one (1) year of administrative support or customer service experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Excellent data entry, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Essential Functions

  • Provide administrative support to CRP Statewide Office staff as well as to Regional Placement Coordinators
  • Schedule conference calls/virtual meetings with multiple providers, community partners, social service workers, and Children’s Review Program staff
  • Arrange coverage for absent Regional Placement Coordinators and communicate coverage arrangements to DCBS regional leadership
  • Manage children’s records received (e.g., psychological evaluations)
  • Facilitate documentation of comprehensive information regarding children’s history as needed
  • Carry out other office-related tasks (e.g., maintaining files, copying, coordinating staff meetings and communication) as needed
  • Enter data timely and accurately (e.g., regarding 2-week notices)
  • Provide written summaries of meetings and conference calls/virtual meetings as assigned
  • Serve as a liaison between MCO representatives, DCBS staff, Statewide Placement Office supervisors, and Regional Placement Coordinators
  • Assist with coverage in other CRP units as needed
