Backflow/Cross Connection/FOG Inspector

Nature Of Work

This position performs a variety of skilled and independent work including administrative duties associated with coordinating, implementing and enforcing the Town's Cross-Connection Control and Wastewater Pre-Treatment Program; to oversee the inspection and repair of backflow devices for compliance with regulations; to keep and maintain accurate and appropriate records, files and documents.

Required Qualifications

* HS/GED.

* Four (4) years of practical experience in water distribution systems, plumbing, building maintenance and repair experience or combined equivalent of education and experience.

* Certificate of completion of a course recognized by the Town of Leesburg, AWWA, VDH, or VCCCA for cross connection control and backflow prevention inspection, maintenance and testing within 12 months of employment.

* Possession of a valid CDL driver's license with appropriate endorsements (or ability to obtain within one (1) year) and a valid driver's license and safe driving record.

* Ability to obtain each certification within one (1) year of employment: CPR/First Aid Certification, Confined Space Training, VDOT Flagging Certification.

* Proficiency in MS Suite applications and computer program applications appropriate to the position.

* Excellent customer service skills.

* Good organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Preferred Qualifications

* State (VA DPOR) certification as a Cross Connection Inspector.

* Bilingual in English/Spanish.
