Class Summary

Gwinnett County Community Services' Business Management is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and processing the financial, personnel, and technological needs for a diverse department and includes administration, budget, payables, revenues, purchasing, fixed assets, technology, and internal human resource functions for the department.

The Department of Community Services Business Management Division is searching for a candidate to fill a Business Officer position. Incumbents perform professional level work in providing fiscal and administrative management support in a County department. Incumbents may be required to supervise support staff. Positions assigned to the Community Services Department may be responsible for: operating budget management to include preparing, coordinating and submitting annual budgets, revisions, transfers, letters of justification, agendas, county administrator requests and financial supplements; preparing projections and analysis; monitoring contracts for contents and compliance; issuing timely and expedient payments and monitoring restricted accounts (overtime, travel, training, conference, etc.); assisting with the development of policies and procedures; overseeing the receipting of revenues, cash management controls and field training; overseeing utility accounts and disbursements and handling special projects.

The Grade for this position is C411.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field

* Two years of professional level accounting experience;

* Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
