Position Overview

The Director, Interior Design will have responsibility for design activities of building and any renovation of LVSC properties worldwide. This position will ensure that the design of Venetian and LVSC properties adheres to the brand requirements of the organization.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp.'s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities

* Key Performance Objectives

* Work with top management to ensure that brand is consistent and present in all design elements

* Manage outsourced design efforts, including external firms and internal resources

* Serve as POC for design function between construction, design, engineering vendors and partners

* Lead design strategy sessions

* Oversee in-house design projects, including as necessary design and specification of certain projects and plans

* Direct and manage staff and organize department functions to facilitate design elements in accordance with company guidelines

* Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments

* Focus on achieving the goals or objectives of the department using available resources (staff and budgetary)

* Evaluate the schedule or timelines related to the completion of assignments, while maintaining service and/or product quality

* Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess cost or unnecessary expenditures.

* Effectively coordinates the design budget to ensure it is complete, accurate, justifiable and accepted with reasonable levels of revision.

Minimum Qualifications

* 8-10 years post graduate design experience in a hospitality design firm or similar organization required

* Recent hotel / casino / resort design experience preferred

* Experience on ground up hotel, mixed use, high density residential or large scale retail development

* Strong history of successful high-profile project design oversight in high-end/branded environments

* Demonstrated track record of managing and coordinating design consultants.

* Ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external constituencies, ranging from joint venture partners to government agencies

* Excellent leadership capabilities, charisma, and communication skills to influence, inspire, and motivate key stakeholders and employees around a single vision

* Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with senior management team, while being a self-starter

* Poise and discipline to know when and how to communicate

* Strong financial acumen and bottom-line orientation.

* Interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, and changeable environment

* Work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

* Ability to Travel

* 21 years of age

* Ability to read and communicate effectively in standard English in written and oral business communications

* Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job

Work Environment

* Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, with frequent interruptions or distractions

* Adapt to frequent changes in workload and be able to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate while completing tasks within established time frames

* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow Team Members, management, outside contacts, guest and the public

* Ability to meet the basic physical requirements of an office environment including moving freely and frequently about an office, accessing computers and related technologies using peripheral equipment and operating other office equipment
