Summary:

Responsible for the day to day management of all aspects and functions of the beverage department including, but not limited to, hiring, coaching and training of all Beverage Servers, Bartenders, Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters. Ensures that service is perceived as the highest standard and efficient in all the bars and on the casino floor. Follows all operating procedures, including health code and safety policy and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the highest quality of guest service according to Golden Entertainments ACES philosophy
  • Responsible for hiring, training, evaluation, scheduling and discipline of beverage employees
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Monitor service, ensuring agreement with established standards
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  • All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in outlets
  • Designated glassware and garnishes for drinks, bar menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices
  • Daily specials, deleted items, bar outlet layouts (table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups), room capacity, and hours of operation, price range and dress code
  • Manual system POS procedures, daily house count, arrivals/departures, VIPs, scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times
  • Knowledge of and implementation of all corporate beverage programs
  • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving
  • Check storage areas for proper supplies, organization and cleanliness. Instruct designated personnel to rectify any cleanliness/organization deficiencies
  • Ensure that transfers are entered weekly in Stratton Warren, slips and spill sheets are filled out and distributed in accordance with departmental standards
  • Inspect bar set-ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement to departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel
  • Ensure the flow of all promotions and event to beverage department staff
  • Must ensure that all performance related team member issues are addressed and all policies followed for progressive disciplinary issues
  • Monitor and handle problems with intoxicated guests and/or altercations
  • Respond to all emergency requests via phone or email for beverage department
  • Document pertinent information in daily shift report
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in a fast paced high volume Beverage department in a similar position
  • Working of cost of sale and ability to calculate cost of sales for department product
  • Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Provide legible written communication
  • Previous experience and success controlling labor costs and expenses
  • Ability to resolve problems using good judgment while remaining calm
  • Able to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team as well a working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to receive feedback and develop corrective plans and actions Able to ascertaining departmental training needs and provide such training
  • Directing performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed
  • Experience with computers, calculators and word processors
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • High school graduate or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lifting, pulling, pushing, and/or carrying
  • Walking or standing up to 100% of the time
  • Frequently reach 2 feet above shoulders and lift 15 lbs

  • Vision, hearing, speaking and literacy (critical)
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Work inside in a noisy, smoky, and hot or cold environment.
