POSITION SUMMARY: 

Position is responsible for the ongoing management of the Foodservice business within the assigned territories.   Primary focus will be on driving sales results via a combination of direct customer interface and support of assigned Territory Managers’ sales activities.  In addition, this individual will ensure customer service expectations are met.

Based on assigned territory

 

TRAVEL: 

As required to build Foodservice business and support assigned Territory Sales Managers

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key customers within assigned territories

  • Active management of foodservice accounts within an assigned territory

  • Ability to work cross functionally with Field Sales, Operations and Accounts Receivable departments

  • Knowledge of the Foodservice Industry as it relates to the commercial bread industry

  • Minimum 3 years direct experience with a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) system

  • Strong analytical skills i.e. forecasting and planning daily needs of customers

  • Delivery of consistent sales execution plans 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

Sales/ Costs/ Profitability:

  • Meet or exceed sales targets/ plans

  • Meet or exceed budgeted Management Profit targets/plans

  • Meet or exceed new account acquisition targets 

People:

  • Ability to coach Territory Sales Managers to build their Foodservice market knowledge and sales skills

  • Create a productive work environment through effective communication, listening, participation, organization and follow-up

  • Ability to work across functions for completion of new customer set-up as well as for assigned project work 

Service:

  • Provide Gold Standard service to all customers

  • Conduct regular business reviews with all major customers

  • Ongoing Management of Regional Contracts 

Operations:

  • Establish, monitor and maintain service frequency patterns for all assigned Foodservice customers in a given territory

  • Prepare volume forecasts for given territory i.e. long weekends and holidays 

PERFORMANCE MEASURES: 

  • Sales vs. plan

  • Profitability vs. plan

  • Account development achievement vs. goal

  • Canvassing and securing of new business

  • Strong market execution

  • Ability to plan and execute Bimbo Canada price increases with major Regional Customers 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to work within a fast paced DSD system

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written); actively listens to customers needs

  • Interpersonal skills: works well in team environment

  • Selling Skills: ability to identify opportunities, set goals and execute against plan to achieve these goals

  • Integrity: high personal and business ethics

  • Computer Skills: proficient at Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook

  • Supervision: Builds commitment and teamwork while maintaining a creative and positive work environment

  • Flexible and Adaptable: Open to new ideas and approaches, can adjust to priorities as conditions change

  • Problem Solving: Proactive use of information and resources, demonstrates a sense of urgency

  • Strong Leadership Skills 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • University or College degree/ diploma

  • 3 years of DSD experience preferred

  • 2-3 year demonstrated success in a consumer goods sales role
