Diversified Infrastructure Services (DIS) provides a variety of offerings in the
heavy civil, renewable energy, water/wastewater, geotechnical, and survey/GIS
markets. Our construction management experience includes the construction of
highways, airports, wind, and solar farms, biogas plant design, cross bore
detection, cleaning and televising, geotechnical, dewatering, and survey related
services.
DIS has immediate needs for Heavy Equipment Operators for work in Texas.
Our heavy equipment operators will be required to operate various pieces of
construction equipment in safe manner and within the parameters of the
manufacturer’s guidelines. Operators must be hands-on team players and may
be required to assist other crew members’ with tasks including concrete
forming and pouring, driving trucks, steel erection, and other tasks needed to
drive construction productivity.
Essential Functions:
Knowledge of equipment safety and the ability to operate in a safe and
effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or
loss of life
Ability to operate front-end loaders, graders, rollers, dozers, skid-steers,
large excavators, forklifts and other pieces of heavy equipment from a variety
- f manufactures
Working knowledge of GPS machine control
Ability to read and implement work related to construction drawings provided
Ability to calculate required grades and elevations for construction work
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on all operated equipment
Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
Ability to securely load and haul equipment to meet local, county and state
road regulations
Advise job foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs
Demonstrate knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe
working procedures and environment.
Maintain daily records as requested
Demonstrate self-motivation, and excellent communication, time management
and interpersonal skills
May perform other related duties
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age.
Completion of grade 12 or equivalent preferred
Commercial driver’s license preferred
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and
the general public at all times
Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or
supervisors with other duties as required
Ability to do basic math
Must require minimal supervision.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or
- ral instructions.
Must have a minimum of 20/40 corrected vision with at least 70 degrees
peripheral in horizontal meridian measured in each eye
Physical Requirements:
Heavy Equipment Operators are paid on an hourly basis. Overtime rules will
apply.
Work hours will typically consist of 50-60 hours per week.
Travel will be nationwide and is required
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis while in the
field, including hardhat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety-toed boots,
and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective
equipment.
Employee will be required to work in outdoor environments and may be subject
to extreme weather conditions including freezing winter weather and extreme
summer heat.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk,
stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and
ladders, and work on elevated platforms, possibly for extended periods.
Requires occasional moving/lifting of up to 50 pounds during the course of
the workday.
